Peanut Butter Jelly Time is an Internet phenomenon and meme that emerged in the early 2000s. Based upon a song recorded by the Buckwheat Boys, the best known version of the animation (usually distributed as a Flash clip) shows an animated Dancing Banana (itself a well-known emoticon) moving back and forth to the song's repetitive chorus. In some versions of the animation, the song's lyrics are displayed on screen. The original version was made by Ryan Gancenia Etrata and Kevin Flynn from a thread on OffTopic.com.
Many versions of this Macromedia Flash clip were made, and some of the alternate versions were put on popular Flash websites such as Newgrounds.
